Active in the commercial brokerage business in Utah, Mr. Walker has been licensed in the real estate industry since 1974.  He has specialized in the commercial real estate market for over 30 years and has been involved in the marketing of $100’s millions of properties. He received his education from University of Utah and Brigham Young Universtiy.

He has developed residential and commercial properties including office buildings, planned unit residential developments and subdivisions throughout Utah. He has owned his own real estate and development firms and has been associated with Woodbury Corporation of Utah, a regional developer and real estate brokerage firm, and two other commercial brokerage firms. Mr. Walker was a consultant and Director of Business Development for SCI Real Estate of Los Angeles, CA. for over three years.  SCI was a major sponsor of Tenant in Common (TIC) real estate investments and has been involved in over $2.0 billion of real estate TIC offerings.

He has 21 years of experience in Bankruptcy sales and workouts, representing a US Bankruptcy Trustee in the liquidation of commercial and development properties.

Mr. Walker has been active in numerous civic capacities and is a past vice-chair of the Salt Lake County Planning Commission and currently volunteers as a member of the Steering Committee of Envision Utah.  He has worked with the Road Home Salt Lake Neighborhood Housing Services in providing affordable housing for the homeless.

As a member and past Chair of the Utah Real Estate Commission, Mr. Walker is active in ARELLO (Association of Licensing and Law Officials) and serves on several committees, including the Appraisal Advisory Group, and the License Portability Work Group. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of ARELLO for 2009.

Mr. Walker is a Past President of the Utah County Board of Realtors and the Utah Association of Realtors. He served as a Director of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) for eight years and chaired numerous committee’s and work groups for NAR including the Land Use Property Rights and Environment Committee, State and Local Fiscal Affairs Committee, Public Policy Coordinating Committee and the Realtors Commercial Alliance Legislative and Regulatory Sub Committee.  Mr. Walker currently serves as Chair of the TIC workgroup for NAR. He has met numerous times with the SEC in an effort to obtain an exemption for real estate professionals to be compensated in a securitized TIC transaction and is serving as Vice Chair of the Realtors Commercial Alliance for NAR in 2009.

The Utah County Board of Realtors, Salt Lake Board of Realtors and the Utah Association of Realtors have honored him as Realtor of the Year.  He was a consistent member of the Million Dollar Club for the Salt Lake Board of Realtors during its existence.  He has received several other honors by the local board of Realtors as well as the state association of Realtors.
